The Goat – 52100 High Carbon Custom Hunting Knife
Straight from my brain to the fires of the forge.
The Goat began as an idea inspired by a song, combined with religious iconography and a few late-night design concepts. Somewhere between the sketchbook and the forge, that idea took shape. The result is The Goat — a custom knife that is as much a piece of art as it is a serious working tool.
Hand forged from 52100 high carbon steel, the blade is built for performance. 52100 is renowned for its toughness, edge retention and ability to take an exceptionally keen edge. This is a blade designed to be used, not simply admired.
The sculpted solid brass guard is pinned directly to the blade, creating a strong transition between blade and handle while adding a distinctive visual character. The guard has been shaped by hand to complement the lines of the knife and give The Goat its unmistakable presence.
The handle is crafted from dyed and stabilised Birch Burl, chosen for both its natural figuring and its ability to provide a hard-wearing, comfortable grip. Stabilisation helps protect the timber from moisture and movement while allowing the natural beauty of the burl to remain on full display.
The result is a knife with a striking appearance and a practical purpose.
The Goat comes with a handcrafted 8 oz vegetable-tanned leather sheath, designed specifically for scout carry. The sheath features an embossed crocodile-skin leather overlay, adding another layer of character without compromising the rugged nature of the knife.
But don’t let the looks fool you.
The Goat may look like it belongs in a display case, but it was built to work.
From the forged 52100 blade to the solid brass guard, stabilised Maple Burl handle and heavy-duty leather sheath, every part has been selected and crafted with function in mind.
This is not a factory-produced knife. It is a one-off piece born from an idea, shaped by hand and brought to life in the forge.
