Some knives are made for a destination. The Vagabond was made for the journey.

Inspired by the timeless Bowie, the Vagabond has been refined into a working knife for those who spend their time beyond the beaten path. Whether crossing mountain ranges, following game through dense timber, or simply living by the belief that good tools should never let you down, the Vagabond was built to be a dependable companion.

Every knife begins at the forge where our signature Ghost Mai steel is brought to life. A core of tough 80CRV2 high carbon steel is forge welded between two layers of 1084 high carbon steel, creating a blade that combines outstanding edge retention, toughness, and the subtle beauty that only hand-forged laminated steel can provide.

Measuring just over 1/4 inch (6.4mm) thick, the blade carries its strength without feeling cumbersome. The long clip point and finely ground swedge provide excellent penetration while maintaining the slicing characteristics expected from a true field knife. The broad bevel is polished to reveal the flowing layers of the steel, while the Brut de Forge finish along the flats serves as a reminder of the handwork that shaped it.

The Vagabond is built around a hidden tang that leaves nothing to chance. Beginning at 15mm wide at the ricasso and tapering only slightly before extending to within an inch of the pommel, the tang provides exceptional strength while allowing the knife to remain lively and well balanced in the hand.

The handle is fitted with carefully selected Siamese Rosewood, chosen for both its durability and striking natural figure. Each piece is individually shaped and blended into a sculpted German Silver double guard that provides both security and elegance without unnecessary ornamentation. The result is a knife that feels as natural in the hand as it does on the belt.

Accompanying the knife is a handcrafted 8 oz full-grain leather sheath, individually hand-tooled and made to the same standard as the knife itself. More than simple protection, it is designed as a practical field companion. A removable utility pouch houses a supplied survival tin containing five metres of paracord, with room for fishing tackle, matches, fire starters, or a compact first aid kit. A second removable pouch is designed to carry a compact flashlight (not included) and can also be worn independently when required. A ferrocerium rod completes the system, ensuring the essentials for fire making are always close at hand.

The Vagabond was never intended to be a display piece, although many will admire it. It was built for honest work, hard miles, and years of dependable service. Like every knife we make, it is forged one at a time by hand, using traditional methods, quality materials, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.
