Grey Wolf —When survival isn’t optional.
Some knives are made to be carried.
Others are made to be relied upon.
The Grey Wolf was built for the second kind.
This is a working bush-craft knife for those who spend time beyond the beaten track and understand that when you’re in the bush, your equipment needs to do its job without complaint. Firewood, camp chores, carving, food preparation, shelter building or game processing—the Grey Wolf is designed to handle the work and be ready for whatever comes next.
The Grey Wolf began life as a one-off custom commission. Its owner put it through hard use in the field and came back with a simple verdict: it had outperformed a well-known production bush-craft knife. Cutting performance, edge retention, handling and reliability had all stood up to the test.
That field report gave the Grey Wolf its opportunity to earn a permanent place in the Saxon Knives Australia range.
At the heart of the knife is a 5-inch hand-forged 80CRV2 high carbon steel blade. 80CRV2 is well suited to hard-working outdoor knives, offering an excellent balance of toughness, edge stability and practical field performance. The blade is heat treated for serious use and finished with a near-zero ground bevel.
That grind is purposeful.
The Grey Wolf is made to cut. Whether you’re preparing feather sticks, carving timber, processing kindling or performing the smaller jobs around camp, the keen geometry puts the cutting edge to work. It is a blade designed around function first.
The full tang construction runs through the handle, providing a solid foundation for demanding bush-craft work. There are no unnecessary complications here. Just steel, timber and hardware assembled with the intention of making a dependable working tool.
The handle is made from dyed and stabilised Karellian Birch. The timber brings warmth and character to the knife, while stabilisation helps protect it against the moisture and changing conditions encountered in the outdoors.
Red G10 liners provide a strong contrast against the timber and add another layer of durability. Stainless steel pins secure the handle, while a distinctive Grey Wolf mosaic pin provides the final detail.
Then there is the sheath.
Every Grey Wolf is supplied with a substantial 8-ounce full-grain leather sheath, handmade specifically for the knife. This particular system gives you two carry options.
Configured for scout carry, the sheath sits high and securely across the belt, keeping the knife accessible without allowing it to swing around as you work. When conditions or preference call for a lower carry position, simply release the retainer slide on the additional strap and reconfigure the sheath for drop-leg carry.
The sheath also carries a removable utility pouch containing a supplied kit tin. Use it for tinder, fishing gear, small survival equipment or even a compact first-aid kit. A ferro rod is mounted alongside the sheath, complete with a Grey Wolf mosaic detail in the top.
Everything you need is kept together and close at hand.
That is the thinking behind the Grey Wolf.
It isn’t a knife designed to sit behind glass. It is a tool designed to go into the bush with you. A knife that can be carried every day, used hard, maintained easily and trusted when the nearest hardware store is a long way away.
The Grey Wolf doesn’t need to shout about what it can do.
Take it into the bush. Put it to work. Let the knife prove itself.
Quiet. Tough. Dependable.
The Grey Wolf is built for those who would rather be prepared than wish they were.
