Tahr – Full Tang San Mai Khukuri-Inspired Blade
Forge Your Path with Strength, Tradition, and Precision

Introducing the Tahr, a bold new design for 2025 that fuses traditional Gurkha heritage with modern craftsmanship. Named after the Himalayan Tahr—a sure-footed mountain goat native to Nepal and Tibet—this knife embodies raw power, elegant curves, and relentless utility.

A Western interpretation of the iconic Khukuri, the Tahr features a deeply recurved forward blade designed to bite, chop, and carve with remarkable ease. Forged in San Mai fashion, it boasts a robust 80CRV2 High Carbon Steel core clad in 1084 outer layers, creating a striking blade with both visual character and functional excellence. With a Rockwell hardness of approximately 61 HRC, the edge holds strong through the toughest tasks.

Measuring 180 mm (7 inches) from guard to tip and 55 mm wide at the belly, the blade’s generous recurve maximises cutting efficiency across the entire edge. The forward-balanced design delivers powerful chopping performance while remaining surprisingly nimble in hand. A full tang and solid brass guard add strength and confidence during use.

The handle is a showcase of natural artistry—Ivory G10, Dyed and Stabilised Curly Mango, and a large Antler crown pommel combine in a grip that’s both beautiful and battle-ready. The pommel is mechanically fastened with a threaded tang and locked down with dowel pins and a brass insert nut. Two brass pins and a lanyard tube complete the rugged profile.

Each Tahr includes a custom-fit, hand-tooled 8 oz full-grain leather sheath, designed for left-hip cross-draw with a spring-retained strap for quick deployment.

Please note: As materials are selected for beauty and performance, handle woods and steels may vary slightly between builds.
